Unscrew your gas cap and then use the pressure relief valve screw on the fuel rail to relieve fuel pressure, not unless your pressure relief is on the top fuel filter nut (some models are). You can undo the fuel line screw to the fuel rail but that's NOT the actual pressure relief valve.

Invest in a good set of crows feet for the fuel filter change job and be prepared, it's a PITA.
