grab the ends, out by your hubs and push into the trans til it compresses all the way. However much pressure it takes to compress them. then have a friend tap the end of hte spindle with a sledge or any hammer that has weight behind it. also try twisting it if it doesn't go in still.
If you still can't get them to go in pull them back out and make sure your c clip isn't bent
