My car wouldn't release from park, and I had no brake lights. So I went to AutoZone and bought a replacement switch. One of the questions that they asked me was if I had cruise control or not. I told them yes, and they gave me the switch. I put it in - it looks just like the old one.

But now I have no cruise control. Brake lights, yes, shift release, but no cruise.

I went to AutoZone's website, and put in my car (99 accord EX v6, cruise) and looked up the part... and it lists the exact same part number (Wells JA4296) for both with and without cruise.

It doesn't say that it works with both, but when you click on one or the other it takes you to the same part.

So I am wondering - could there be an error on the site or the AutoZone cross-reference list? Shouldn't there be two different items - one for cruise and one without?

I sent an email to AutoZone and haven't heard back from them.

Any ideas?

If my thinking is wrong... does anyone have any other ideas as to what may be wrong?
