I went from 8 grand in third back into 2nd while racing some hillbilly in a ranger with a 5.0, needless to say I still beat him. Slightly there after I hear a ticking from under the valve cover. You could have a bent valve but Ill bet my top dollar its a jam nut that you adjust the valve lashe. It either came loose and ticked or come out completely and went down an oil galley into the oil pan. take your valve cover off and look. a new nut if about 3 dollars at a honda dealer, but you cant find fine thread metric any where else, at least not in my town. If your dont know how to adjust the valve lash bring it in because the piston has to be at tdc for the cylinder to set it and if you dont the cam lobe will wear down from rubbing on the rocker to hard. A screen before the oil pump will assure that the nut will chill in your oil pan saftley until you remove the oil pan and get it out, ass long as it doesnt get through the crank baffleding
