new development though, although i'm still picking up stations all over the board, a few had a little static in the background. i'm not sure why, as this wasn't happening yesterday, so i'm going to check the wiring and get back to you guys. i did extend the grounding wire as it was a bit too short for what i wanted to do, so maybe that has something to do with it..
