hehe.... 3rd gear is good for over 100mph so when i used to race on the freeway, i could beat 5sp accords. the ecu wont let u downshift if its unsafe, but u can hit the rev limiter all day long if u leave it in low gear. when racing, i usually went about 250rpms into the red, then shifted. it kept the motor in vtec after the shift

btw if the gear selector is in d4, d3, d1, the car starts in 1st gear, so acceleration is the same (in 1st gear.) d2 starts in 2nd gear, great for snow driving.
