I beleive the gasket is reusuable as i reused mine. I then got a coat hanger and some carb cleaner spray (dont let it get in your eyes burns bad) I let then started scraping and spraying till i got the ports cleaned. Then reassembled everything. I remember doing the egr ports on a 92or93 and that was harder as you have to drill out cup plugs.
This procedure is documented fairly well. The only thing I would add is that you'll need to get a gasket set for the injectors; resuing the ones already installed will not work. I re-used the EJR port gasket, but my car just barely passed. I kinda wondered if the numbers would have been better had I used a new gasket. Also, I noticed a lot of carbon inside the intake manifold itself. If you can get some sort of fluid in there to clean that out (SeaFoam?), it might help.
