I haven't driven the new Si yet but from reviews I've read, it is the best Si ever. And I just purchased a lowly 2006 Civic LX and it is by far the sportiest Civic have ever driven not counting the 99-00 Si's. So I don't understand what you guys are saying about the Civic moving backwards. It is not plush or soft riding like a Corolla. The suspension is much more stiff almost as much as a Mazda3. The engine may be a little weak but you can't say it's a step backward when the previous generation had 127hp. Anyway that's what the Si is for if you want more power. The only thing is the car is very ugly but oh well, hopefully I will grow to love it.

So on the same note, that's what this Sentra is gonna be. The bread and butter of the line. For those who want more power, there's no question Nissan will release an SE-R version. I'm guessing they're working on an engine that can produce at least 200 hp. The old 2.5 just won't cut it.
