my buddie just swapped a sir2 into his 98 civic coupe.
when shifting, the rpms drop down below 1k to below 500 and it feels like the car wants to cut out, but then it will pop back up to 1k.
the exact thing happened to my car, right before the clutch blew
as for the rest, replace the alternator or check to make sure the belt is tight enough.
EDIT: oil level and battery, as well.
