it will stop when it reaches that height but that height is to low. replace that seal. take off wheel.....loosen half shaft nut (good luck )......take off either upper or lower balljoint or both......outer tie-rod.....then get a breakerbar in between the inner shaft and the tranny. try to "pop" (not pry) halfshaft out of tranny. do they same thing for the seal (pop with screwdriver). put new seal in.....with a block of wood covering all the surface of the seal...and lightly tap the seal flush. good luck
