I've seen stock STOCK c5's go 180-190whp depending on condition i really haven't seen any dyno's for the k20 just in stock form but its mostly been upper 190ish with i/h/e i can tell u this u can do the same thing to a c5 thatu can to a k... infact both motors have their good and bad, am a type-r lover and of course i'm goin to lean towards the c5, however k's have their pros but dont take it to that level cause, right now with a fully built head, and major bolt ons i'm putting down some good power... so its all in opinion, if u got the money k20 if ur ok with spending aload of money to be fast.... c5 if itu can afford it too it reactes just as well to anything as a k20 would.
that is peak numbers only.
Compare the torque curves and the overall power of a K to a c5 and you will be suprised.
That is why they are so fast.
Torque comes on early and stays much much higher than the C5, and topend on a k20a peaks at about 210-220whp tuned.
190whp on a k20a is ridiculously low, although about right for a k20a2
