man this is crazy news. the rumor was that samsung would buy maxtor. seagate obviously doesn't need maxtor's technology, employees, or strategy - but they will benefit from obtaining mxo's customer base and manufacturing plants. also they were looking to physically expand anyway h:

i just quit maxtor a month ago and almost got a job at seagate...oh the irony :rofl: all of my old coworkers think i knew about it and escaped :doh:
