I agree with the sketchiness of the price of those things...maybe a couple of the shocks are blown and need to be rebuilt. Check up on that stuff before putting the money down.

also, will the suspension from a civic even fit on a 'teg?

For street driving, 6/16 Front & Rear ought to be quite tolerable.

If the parts arent "hot" as in stolen, and the dampers are in good shape, I'd go for it.
is that a typo with those spring rates? 6-front, 16-rear?? wouldnt that make your car ridiculously oversteery? even 16-front and 6 rear, that's REALLY stiff, and it won't help at all with ride quality if he's getting 17" wheels (lower profile tires, heavier wheels = rougher ride). Also, if i'm not mistaken the stock rates for the Flex coilovers is 9-front 4 rear. Check rate lists here.
