Inserting the fact that the DS has been circulating in EU for a full 6 months LONGER than the PSP puts them at least neck and neck in my book.
that figure i posted earlier is for the U.S. and Japan alone, not EU.

anyway, it's widely known that the DS had a slow start, which would negate the "few months in advance" release, in my opinion. regardless, just like in the case of consumers holding off on the 360 to get the PS3, i'm sure the same happened with the then highly anticipated PSP. also, according to your dates, the bigger descrency in date of release is in the US alone. in japan, where the DS is apparently vastly more succesful, they were released about a week apart.

so, once again, put that all together, and i see no real advantage in the DS being released first in the US. any way you cut it, the DS has sold something like 1.75 million units MORE than the PSP, EVEN THOUGH the PSP is technologically superior in many ways. THAT is the point here. i'm not arguing which portable is better, i'm stating the simple fact that specs alone will not ensure dominance or success. and i mention this because it relates DIRECTLY to the revolution having subpar specs versus the PS3 and the 360.

and if we go by your opinion that they're about neck and neck, THE SAME STILL HOLDS TRUE. the superior tech of the PSP only puts it on the same level - again, in your opinion - of the "inferior" DS.

do with that what you will. this all may change, of course, but i think they are solid facts to consider when discussing what impact the revolution may have.

capiche?
