I don't know about the 3rd gens but on my 91 the moonroof was causing a huge leak in the trunk. The lines were clogged, but on the lines going to the rear drains there is a connector just forward of the antenna. That connector had come loose on both sides of the car which let the water drain into the trunk instead of under the car. Pushed it back together and put a hose clamp on it and fixed ~that~ leak.
