If you are going to school for broadcast or film, the teacher was certainly giving it to you straight. Most of the time you are going to find that people in that world dont give a shit if you even went to school. They want experience and it is truly who you know. The knowledge is important obviously but will get you nowhere by itself. Keep in mind that even if you get the in, dont take a job that you arent exteremly proficient in and as far as the technical aspect of TV, expect to un-learn about 3/4 of what they taught you in school. Good advice....get an internship. Period. The work for free will take you much further than gripping or being a utility. Also, most engineers are very grumpy, go through others to the EIC until you are better known. =)
