charging for the music isnt bad, but the fact that you are left with limited usage that bugs me. non-standard formats, advanced DRM and other things of that nature are what push me away.
illegal music is just more versitile, you have control over anything and everything. to me it's like paying to get a hassle with little to no alternatives.
the best thing i've seen so far are "buy it, burn it, return it" campaigns. you buy a new or used CD and then burn it to your computer, then return it to the same store and get a percentage of your money back.
it's legal, the music is 100% versitile and if big corporations and the RIAA get involved it could become where they get a percentage of the profits and everyone's happy.
