I see alot of diffrent 4 channel amps that say they can do so much amount of RMS but, how true are their claims? They can't be posting false numbers or are they? I know for sure that Alpine is a reputable company and they hold true to their claims along with other well known companies however they are expensive. However if there are other lowend brands that offer so high amounts of RMS such as the Sony 4 chan doing 100x4 then what really is the diffrence from that type of power and the Alpine which states it can do 55x4 which is exactly the RMS rating of my speakers? Since I only need 55x4 Rms then this would allow the Sony to relax since it claims it can do 100x4. I'll just not raise the gain all that high.

I just don't like to invest into something thats more than enough costing alot more than the lowerend which can do somewhat the same as the higherend at a much lower price. That's why I'm looking at the Sony 4 chan 500w vs the higher brands.
