I don't think they are too pricey, you need to compare options to options.
I purchased a my '00 Coupe new in March-'00. Sticker was about $21k, that was a new EX-5spd. Cloth seats, PW, PD, alloys, etc.

Now look at the current model LX-SE, wow. Aside from a few options, it's a very simaliar equipped car. Likely has better safety features and so on, plus you get the automatic 5spd (+ more HP) which may be a boon to many for the sticker price. I think those are around $22k? (If I recall an auto in '00 was about the same exact price.)

Given that this is 6-years later, I find the prices to be very fair.

And the used market is even better, we picked up our '04 TSX in Dec. '04 w/ 6000mi on it CPO for under $24k, wow--choices choices choices.
