what is the general consensus in the honda community about the new 4cyl i-vtecs that have chains and not belts? chains dont need to be changed like belts, what are the negatives of using a chain for timing?>>>


It never bothered me to have to replace the t-belt, since I thought of it as a good time to replace the waterpump and various other items besides just the belt to avoid later problems/breakdowns. Now with the chain, those essential components are less likely to get replaced when they should (which is BEFORE they break)
