You forget a little something we call "propane." For around 500 clams, you can boost the TDI to 200 HP give or take with propane injection. It allows more of the BTUs to be extracted from the fuel. Plus one tank can run for a long, long time. Hours, not seconds like nitrous systems. Plus it improves mileage too.

Of course it's a good idea to put in a stronger clutch to deal with the 270+ ft/lbs of torque, but not a neccesity.
