check out the engine. the intake manifold sits lower on the GS-R engine than the rest. also alloy rims, vtec badging, leather seats. (could always be applied after he bought the car). they had a few different models including the RS, LS, GS, & GS-R. if it's a GS-R then it'll have the vtec motor under the hood the 93 GS-R is tough to come by. they are getting rare.
