the amount in premium that is reduced by moving up from $500 to $1000 deductible probably isnt going to make a big enough difference for rick to justify the double in deductible. well thats how it is for me. so if i need to make a claim, i only pay $500 out of my pocket instead of coming out with $1000... the amount i would save is like $150 or something if i raise my deductible. it would take approximately 3yrs to even out the difference, but when the claim happens, id rather cut a $500 check instead of a $1000 check.
