Default i've lost all hope

waiting for class to start, i decided to look up some cars on the internet and feed my need for knowledge. i own a 2000 Honda Accord LX Sedan Auto, and i love it (don't flame me for being a pussy with an auto, it was all i could find at the time) and i LOVE my car, LOVE it. and in waiting to finish paying off my car, i thought i'd look at what would be cool to have for my next car. i love my Accord, and wanted something faster, so obviously the choice would be a V6, since they don't want to release Euro R here. but then i got to thinking about something people here said that the TSX is the closest to the type R accord in america. so i went looking at the TSX. looked promising...but it made me feel discouraged about my beloved accord. a V6 is SOHC pushing 255 +/- yet a TSX I4 is DOHC pushing 205+/-...ok, maybe i don't know enough about engines to have any right to complain, but i always thought DOHC was better, so then why doesn't the V6 come DOHC? then another car peaked my interest...the Lancer Evolution...and sad to say, i wanted to wave bye bye to my beloved Accord. so, my comments and questions are this...

Why does a V6 have SOHC and a I4 TSX have DOHC?
Is the TSX the closest to Euro-R Accord in US?
Why Accord? Why not TSX if the range is so-so?
Would you guys blame me for going with a Lancer Evo that costs possibly 1000-2000 more than a Accord V6 and TSX?

please help, remind me why i love the Accord again, or wave goodbye...

P.S. i got about another good 2-3 years before i give up my accord due to car payments!
