Okay I guess I was not clear.
When the temp. gets hot around 98-108degrees you should use high octane (91+ or what ever grade) because it will make you engine even hotter than normal your radiator will cool your engine but hot does the radiator work it take the passing air to cool the coolant down. Your engine is made of aluminum alloy which can gain and lose heat quickly but if temptures is freaken Hot like durring the Summer time your car will likely ping more often.
People talk about PING in their car which is likely due to early combustion.
HIGH OCTANE will ignite at a high tempters, so when the tempters goes over 98 degree (summertime) I use 91+ octane.
