No no no no no no no.

The Opel/Vauxhall Speedster is a rebadged/restyled/re-engined Lotus Elise.

Vauxhall (a.k.a. what Opels are called in the UK) showed a concept car called the VX Lightning which was a restyled Pontiac Solstice. The styling was similar to the Speedster.

Turned out GM couldn't get the VX Lightning to pass the new European pedestrian impact safety standards, but since the production version of the car was essentially ready to go they gave it to Saturn and called it the Sky.

Mechanically, the Sky has absolutely nothing whatsoever to do with the Speedster. Thank you.

Maybe I could fab up a turbo kit for it, or at least some nitrous. :rick:
GM will do that for you with the Sky Redline.
