One of my desktops is throwing the "no keyboard" error in the bios... no problem, right? Swap keyboards! (Windows 98SE)

I connect the keyboard to this computer, works perfectly. (Mandrake 9.1)

Am I looking at a total motherboard meltdown? That was my server computer with a 120 gig secondary hard drive full of important stuff... anyone know if I can plug it (the hard drive) into my linux box and have it work right off?
