My daughter has a 98 Accord LX and has had an occasional problem with her car stalling while driving. I think that might be due to a bad gas tank sensor or something. Anyway, she tried to restart the car while driving by putting in neutral, but accidently put the auto trans into reverse while going 30mph! Now it makes a loud grind noise when she tries to use reverse.

I assume that she stripped the reverse gear. She is still using the car and I wonder if she is doing more damage or if the trans will have to be replaced anyway. Can just the reverse gear be changed out? Any idea on how much it might cost? Should she take it to Cottman or Ammco or would she be better off bringing it somewhere else? Thanks for any advise you might have.
