Getting a tap isn't just a "run to the store". It took a couple of visits and many calls to various machine and cutting tool shops (not to mention a 40 mile drive across town) the tap you need for these bolts is an M11 x 1.5, which, I've learned in this little escapade, is a very non-standard size.
Oh, well I ran to I believe it was called Cummins tools or something and got the tap I needed.
