Under constant load the bearings (driveline) may not experience any shake, but it could start to bind under partial load, braking, causing the shudder. This was my S10 bearing conclusion.

I'd look at new rotors first, but since it's a 5th gen, this is a non DIY service part so you might as well have your dealer or mechanic of choice look into the entire issue. It will cost you the same anyhow.
