:stupid: I used to drink 1/2 a bottle of Jack a night, every night. It started impacting all aspects of my life. I had a problem. With help from friends I quit drinking entirely for 6 mos. After that I started drinking beer only and only on weekends (Fri and Sat). Eventually I started drinking hard alcohol again but only on weekends and not to excess. Now (20 yrs later) I drink whatever I want, whenever I want and have control over it. I was lucky (to have some good friends) and smart (I realized I had a problem early) and was able to kick the habit and regain control.
