What Däs said, basically..
The impression I get about breaking a clutch in, from some of the more technical articles I've read anyways...

the "proper" way to break them in is to be easy on them for that 3-500miles, and then open it up on an empty street or 3... because breaking it... breaks it in, obviously... but when you open it up for the first time, the clutch "Glazes" over and hardens to the state that it ought to remain in..

my friend has a clutch he put in and immediatley started beating, so it just glazed over without "fitting" to his car, so whenever he's shifting hard is sounds like a goddamn shotgun going off as the clutch claps into place, and jolts the car...

So yeah, again.. what Däs said... just shift like your mom would while you're on the highway, and don't bring it above 5grandish, i'd say.... make that vtec miss you for a little bit, like you got in a fight with your girl, and then give her that bad ass make up love.
