Have you ever had the fluid changed or had the tranny simply serviced by a qualified Honda tech.?

First have that looked at, it could be a minor problem unrelated to the dreaded tranny failures that so plague the 1st conclusions....

You may just need a flush, and an adjustment to something minor. It couldn't hurt.

Any 98-02 Accord re-mfg. V6 tranny should serv you just fine if need be....
