Thanks for all of the info. It sounds like the t3 or the 16g would be my best bet as far as turbo goes for my motor. My idea with the thicker head gasket was to lower compression which a stock d16z6 I believe is (9.2:1) so that i can run more boost safely, thus putting more torque in the engine. I would ideally like to have approxiamently the same amount of hp as tq. I am just looking into things so that i can show my dad what is best for my car and what will work efficently for sohc. My is really into cars but doesnt really no much about hondas. He doesnt think my motor having 139000 miles would be worth boosting at any psi. I personally know somebody in town with a 97 sohc-t civic ex that runs 8psi on stock internals daily driven for 2 years with no problems. It seems to run really strong right now all I have done to it so far is AEM short ram, ground control coilovers, and regular maintence, spark plugs, plug wires, drive axles, and frequent fluid changes.
p.s. what is a good exhaust for this application i was thinking 2.5 cat back with borala turbo muffler.
