If you did sustain that much damage, you can actually submit a formal complaint to the city and explain to them what happened. It's their job to keep the roads safely paved. You have a good chance of getting money back for the damages. A buddy of mine hit a pothole in Orange County, CA, bent one of his 18" BBS wheels, submitted a complaint to the city, and was compensated for the damages. Good luck
