Thanks for the correction. I should have stated, "EGR CONTROL Solenoid valve".

I was chatting about this with some friends and their comment is that the EGR helps emissions at the expense of performance so having it disconnected isn't so bad if your emissions are good enough to pass. The performance hit that may occur is if at some point the ECU is sending some of the exhaust gases into the air+gas mixture but what arrives into the combustion chamber is air+gas only -- not air+gas+exhaust.

Talk to a tech about how the EGR system is supposed to work. You may be okay but you may be hindering the ECUs operation.
