This is essentially what an O2 sensor looks like when it isn't installed in your exhaust:



You either need to get the 22mm (I think) wrench or the specialized O2 sensor socket with the notch in it to remove the sensor. A crescent wrench will work, but I always worry about them rounding off the corners.
