You've got a V6 and I've got an I4. There may be no real differences in the interval we should change our stuff but like I said I had no problems at 120,000 miles when I finally changed mine. $600 for everything (water pump included and labor) is a lot of money and I was in class all week so it was hard for me to make a good amount of money like that to fix my car.
I say if you drive good, have kept up with normal stuff, then go ahead and wait a little while. Of course visual inspection of the belt doesn't help because when you pull it I understand it's still suppose to look good.
If it breaks though, you've got a 1:17 chance of being able to save your engine. Matter (or in this case valves) cannot occupy the same space (in this case the pisons) at the same time. I had a friend with a 91 Civic Si who's t-belt shredded, he was so lucky that all of his valves were neatly tucked out of the way.
