I used to have an 89 and I did about 3 times. Damn re-builds just were not working out of the box. Plus I had a bent bracket that kept bending and causing the belt to snap.
1. Undo what ever is in the way up top and un-do the alternator bracket and stabilization bolt to free up the belt get that and the power steering belt off by undoing the power steering line. Those 2 10 mm bolts. This will give you the space you need up top.
2. From underneath or on top un-plug it. From underneath fanagle the alternator left and right until you get an angle that allows it to drop out. It takes a few tries but it can be done without removing your tire or axle. There you go and reverse the steps. It's not hard.
