It is much better to be safe than sorry with the timing belt on these close interference motors that are notorious for bending valves if it snaps.
it sounds like the car is his baby not just him saying that but the fact htat he's asking who the car is for and how he nearly flipped when i said i let my sister drive my car now asking if she would be driving this, so i'm hoping he got everything replaced that needed to be.
i'll ask him if he has the records....
