I am the same way. It has to be the perfect length or else it doesn't look right to me. As for dressing I always like to dress nice and usually dress much nicer than my bosses.
I actually like to wear ties. I have atleast 30 of them. Since my office business casual 99% of the guys don't wear ties. When/if I wear a tie people look at me like wtf are you doing. I actually wished more people wore ties there so it wouldn't be so tabu to wear one

That is true Rick. If the shirt fits properly you will not feel restricted at all. A bad fitting shirt however will feel horrible.
