That show was Full Throttle, I watched that a few days ago as well, the trannys were not swaped because the parts place got them C6's instead of C4's, a cam in a carb engine is alot different than EFI, also you have to keep vtec in mind.

If you want a little bang for your buck, get a cold air or short ram air intake. (personaly) I would get a cold air intake.

And open up the flow of exhaust. Header, high flow cat, and atleast 2 1/4 all the way back.
