I had many occasions before putting on the tranny cooler that my accords tranny went bonkers on me, pretty much ignored the pedal position and flaked out(got too hot). I had one time it just refused to shift at all while I was towing my jetski up to the lake. I pulled over, put it in park, then back in drive and it seemed ok. Of course when I took it to the dealer there was no problem found, they even said the tranny fluid looked good, so something went wierd with it.

Our commutes are probably way different though. I commute 15 miles each way. It takes me anywhere from 10 minutes to over an hour to make it each way, on average it takes 40 minutes in nasty stop and go traffic. The driving here is hellish on trannies.
I didn't say it was great, or by any means good, but it's much much better than some cars I've driven. It's not nearly as bad as people say it is.
