haha.. damn.. shut your computer down once in a while!

it probably has a memory leak. a lot of programs have memory leaks, cuz it's an easy mistake for even a highly experienced programmer to make.

IE also seems to not take up as much memory because a good portion of it's core is already embedded in windows. if they made it into a standalone application, it'd probably eat up plenty of memory.

edit: that being said, firefox is a bit on the fat side. despite seeming like a pretty light application, i'm surprised that it takes up as much memory as it does. hope they can slim it down!
