ELD is the electrical load detector. It measures electrical load so the ECU can control the alternator & the idle speed. At least on the car's I've owned, the ELD is built into the under-hood fusebox, so if it's bad you have to replace the fusebox. But check the ELD wiring from the fusebox to the ECU. Don't buy a new fusebox if the real problem is a broken wire.
