The Ford Exloder was just simply a crap design to begin with.
If you blow a head gasket you may as well replace the motor because the heads instantly warp and its about a $1500 bill to fix it. Their trannies have an odd shift point that puts a lot of stress on the drive train which causes all kinds of issues. If you go under and adjust the shift point its a lot easier on it but then the head gasket is guaranteed to blow around 80 - 100k anyways and who does a head gasket as preventative maintenence?
