Although I don't have any personal experience with the FI hood, I can tell you what I think of the VIS hood. I've had my VIS CF hood for a little over a year now. It's a vented hood where it eliminates excess heat rather than taking in cooler air.

The positive things (I think) about the hood is that it comes with the holes for hinges so installation is about 5 mins. The edges are smooth and rolled and the CF goes partially down the underside of the hood. It's already clearcoated so it's nice and shiny right out of the box.

The negative things (I think) about the hood is that the fitment isn't that perfect (the passenger side sits slightly higher than the driver side, (but then again, that could be just my hood), there are holes for the windshield washer squirters (I didn't want any) and that there are two dimples where the emblem should be (I guess that the manufacturer thought that everyone wanted their emblems on their new CF hood).

Maintaining a CF hood is a little more difficult than your standard painted hood. Haziness occurs after washing unless you wax it after every wash. Having owning the hood for over a year, you start to see waviness as well. I'm guessing that this is heat that is causing it. Also, little circles appear in the hood, like as if the cleaner/wax is stripping the clearcoat. I'm not exactly sure what it is, but it is noticeable upon really close inspection.

Hopefully, someone with a FI hood can give you the same kind of evaluation on their hood. But I hope that this helps you and other members out looking for a CF hood for their car.
