c_rogue69, yes I have painted a car before. This is what I was told to do by a professional. Yes preporation does help it stick, the light mist aids in that also. You only hold the gun 24 inches from the surface for that first mist coat, like I had said. The guy I talked to said since when I was painting it was wet outside that would help keep dust down on the ground and out of the air.
