Im still looking for some advice slighly more detailed than that....

try looking here,then explore the index on the left...lot of cool info to be had there....

There is a pretty detailed process on paint there,but you'll prolly end up going thru alot of the index yourself anyways...if your a true diy'er

But maybe someone should bring up how long you should wait inbetween coats,the way i understand it,the longer the better(at least in days vs hours)

Then again,this is somthing i want to get into,not somthing i do.

P.S. also,the angle of how you apply the basecoat is important too....side to side motion on first coat,then a 45degree for the second,or somthing like that...
