I'm a new user and have been reading up on the sixth generation honda accords EX models. I'm aware that there are a lot of transmission problems with the v6s, but Honda has an extended warranty for 7 yr/100,000. However the problems I've read about are particularly with the 1998s - 2000s. Does this same issue apply to the 2001 models? If so, do you think it is worth it to buy a v6, despite these problems? If I do purchase a v6, should I make sure the transmission has been replaced? Have the problems disappeared with the replaced transmissions? Alternatively, do y'all think it is just safer to go with the i4 to avoid these problems?
